This is it!!
The MOST Exciting part of my summer. Not to mention the most important and life-changing moment…well of this summer. Haha. I’ve been having a lot of those moments lately and don’t think this one will be my last.
What is that you might be wondering??? IT’S BOOT CAMP!!!
So I know I’ve mentioned Boot Camp before, but if ya’ll don’t remember, I’ll give you a brief rundown of what Boot Camp actually is. Well, I’ll tell you what I know since I don’t actually have all the gory details. So Boot Camp is three days that I and my squad members and our leaders take and almost die in the wilderness surviving on only what we find…Oh, wait that might be the plot of a book I read once, if not it should be. Haha. Anyway….Boot Camp is when me my squad members and our leaders get together to prepare ourselves for the actual trip. Most of us have not met each other so we will also take this time to get to know each other. AND…. I’m pretty sure Boot Camp is when we all find out who will be in our small groups. Our small groups are groups of about six who will do almost everything together including grocery shopping, trips to town, and other small group activities we will be doing with the people we interact with. If that makes sense. Now that I’ve fully told you about small groups I can continue to tell you guys about the rest of what we will be doing there. Okay so maybe that isn’t much because I’m not exactly sure what we will be doing. All I know is I’ll be hauling around a 27lb (or more since I still have stuff I need to put in it) Hiking pack and a day pack (normal day-to-day backpack full to the brim) and living out of a tent. It may be only three days, but I don’t think I’ve ever camped for more than two nights. And that was enough for me. Maybe this experience will be better because I’ll have better gear. Oh, and the best sleeping bag I have ever slept in. Yes, I did sleep in it already. On the floor in my living room. And man that was one of the best naps I have ever had. Haha. Not even kidding.
Okay so that is Boot Camp, and maybe I gave more than a quick rundown of what Boot Camp is. But hey! Now you know.
What’s next? Oh yea how could I forget? I only talk about this every week. Haha. MONEY!!!! Soooo this week I have raised a crazy number. $1,176.00!!! Yep, God has provided me with $1,176.00. Now imagine me saying that in a slow dramatic way to add emphasis on how totally AWESOME this is. In case you guys were wondering I did indeed reach my first goal!!! My grand total is now $3,737.00!!
Anyway, after a long day which included driving up to Rochester, shopping for what felt like forever, and going to my first steak house. I’m whupped. Oh and about the steakhouse. So we went to Outback and forget the amazing ribs, the bread is the best thing there!! I ate like a loaf and a half by myself just while we were there. Then I managed to bring not just one loaf but two!!!! DANG!! Want to make me happy? Bring me an elephant anything and some of this bread. I’ve almost eaten another loaf just sitting here typing this thing.
Okay so I may have gotten a little off track there, but it’s fiiiiine…I think.
With all that said I am really tired and still have things to do before I pack up and leave tomorrow..well I guess by the time you read this it will be today. So ummm…yea.
Pray for me guys, I have a huge week ahead and am nervous beyond belief and am scared to death. So yea I could just really use some prayers.
And as always…
Have a GREAT day!!! Be HAPPY!! and please please please remember to PRAY!!!! Love you guys! And I’ll see you guys next Saturday!!
PS: I know that when I post this it’s not actually Saturday. And I know this is short, but I might do another small one right before I go to Boot Camp. If not I’ll just make my next one EXTRA good.
Love you guys!!
